I Love my job....

Each night in this building, the entire group met for worship and Bible exposition from the Bible.

This is the stage from inside the sawmill, where we had worship and exposition.

And the third picture.....where the staff were housed! A beautiful beautiful place to retreat and get a good night of sleep before the next day of training students!

The fourth picture....a view of the kitchen in the staff housing. It was always filled with enough coffee to get us to get through the day!

The fifth picture, is a view of the common area in the staff housing. Beautiful right? We had tons of fun in this place!!

This picture if a view of the dorms that students stayed in...again, beyond beautiful. We had our chapter times on the denim couches, and talked about what God was doing in our lives, what we wanted to see God do on campus and spent lots of time in prayer!!

Here are some highlights:

-I had the opportunity to train around 45 students to lead small group Bible Studies in their dorms, fraternity and sorority houses, and in their classes.

-Several students made a first time decision to follow Jesus for the first time

-Students had opportunities to meet with the Lord one on one

-It was so fun to get to know my fellow staff members and colleagues. Again, reminded how much I love working with InterVarsity.

and this is why I do what I do.....

This week at Chapter Focus Week has been so great! I have been staffing Small Group Leaders Training, again for Week 2. I LOVE IT! I love working with small group leaders. I love teaching them on to lead their friends into searching God's word, helping them to develop community, to pray and worship together and to do outreach together. This group has been incredible. They are so excited to take the information back to their campus and to put it into practice. They are so excited to be a part of what God is doing in transforming lives, renewing the campus, and developing world chapters. I am encouraged by their excitement and am reminded of why I do what I do!

Rtizting it at Timber Wolf Lake

This year, we are at a different place for our chapter camp. We normally go to Cedar Campus in the UP of Michigan, and now we are at Timber Wolf, a Young Life owned camp in Lake City, MI. It is beautiful and not filled with dirt!!! I love love love that I can walk from building to building on sidewalks and not on dirt paths!!! The ammenities are great!

But....we all know that is not why I am here, right? This is a camp to train student leaders. The next two weeks I am helping to train students in how to lead small group Bible Studies on their campuses! It is so exciting. As I train students, my own vision of missional small groups is being refreshed. I am excited to go back to Albion and to have small groups, to meet students and to put into practice the very things that I am training students to do!

Chapter Focus Week.....brought to you by the letter "P"

P-- Prepping, packing, printing, prepping, preparing the house.....that is what I have been doing to get ready for the week long training camp. I will be leading students in Small Group Leaders Training, helping them to be trained in leading small groups on campus. I am so excited to be doing that! I am so passionate (another "P") about small groups. I think that they are key in transforming students lives. This week, there will be four Albion students that will be at Chapter Focus Week, and the following week, I will be at the camp, still working, but without Albion students.

Today is the start....

Jon and I have decided to participate in the 5k race of The Festival of the Forks in the fall. Our church has decided to run together. Jon and I desperately need to get in shape and lose weight. This is great accountability an we are excited to be a part of it. Today we jogged/walked for an hour, and yes that was 3 miles! So we are going to continue on and keep training.

Scratching down that list of paperwork....

We sent in a giant pile of adoption paperwork today. Today I am hoping to finish our profile that the birth mother looks at, and to send it in tomorrow morning! Hoping to get everything I can get done before I leave for Chapter Focus Week!

Thanks for praying!
