The Servant of the Lord

One of my New Year's Resoultions, is to memorize scripture. Currently I am working on a passage that I love. Ask me about it sometime. Ask me how I am doing in scripture memorization. There is power in having the word of God hidden in your heart.

"Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight, I will put my Spirit on him, and he will bring justice to the nations. He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets. A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth. In his teaching the islands will put there hope." This is what the Lord says- he who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and all that springs from it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it: "I the Lord, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open the eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness. I am the Lord! That is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols. See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you." Isaiah 42:1-9

Albion Students are Coming Back!

Dear Friends, Family Members, Prayer Warriors and Supporters,

Thank you so much for those of you who are joining with me in excitement as the students that attend Albion College are coming back for class. They are moving in right now as we speak and will start class on Tuesday. I want to encourage you and let you know that I am so grateful for your prayers and support. Ministry on campus cannot happen unless you are joining alongside of me.

Here are some ways that you can pray this week:
-Pray for safety as students travel through this winter weather to come back to campus

-I have several student meetings this week, just checking in with students, hoping to help cast the vision for this semester. Pray that I would be an encouragement for students.

-Friday evening, Jessie, a student leader is organizing a "Missional Prayer Gathering." We will be praying that we would be effective in sharing the Gospel and building disciples on campus this semester. Pray that the Lord would move in this meeting. I am hoping that they would see the importance of prayer and would want to commit to having this be a weekly meeting.

-Saturday, I am training students in how to inductively study the Bible. We want each student to know how to study scripture, in its context, and then apply it. We will be studying the book of Jonah. Would you pray that they would develop a love of scripture, and that they would be motivated to apply the scripture that we learn about?

-Also, on a personal note, please be in prayer for Jon and I as we continue to search for a house. It has been a long process for us, but believe that God is asking us to put down roots in Albion and make this our home.

Please feel free to check out my blog throughout the week. It will have updated stories of what is happening on campus. The link is: http://www.kristinsausser.blogspot.com

Good News?

As I have been praying and seeking the Lord on what He wants us to do this next semester in ministry at Albion, this question keeps popping in my mind, "Is the Gospel Good News?" If it is, it requires a certain response, if it is, then why don't we believe it enough to share with others? Is it really good news?

Thoughts?

A New Year, A New Post

To all my readers....I am so sorry that I have not posted in so long! Albion has been off for the winter break, so my life has been pretty boring. Trust me. There is more to come.
